“Madam Speaker, you insane power grab is showing,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) said Thursday after a new House mask mandate from Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) threatening arrest for noncompliance went into effect.

“Madam Speaker: Come And Get Me,” Rep. Mace dares Pelosi in a tweet introducing a video of Mace walking through the Capitol tunnels without a mask.

“If you’re going to arrest staff and visitors, don’t be shy or hypocritical about it, go ahead and arrest Members too,” Mace writes. “Madam Speaker, your insane power grab is showing. Today I’m not wearing a mask outside of the chamber b/c I follow science — not Pelosi. Come and get me.”

In the video, Rep. Mace says that she’s received two vaccinations, has had COVID, and she’s socially-distancing and washing her hands – and that she’ll even wear a mask inside the House Chamber – but, she draws the line there, even if it means being arrested:

“In the tunnels this morning:

“I’m socially-distant from anybody else.

“I’ve had COVID.

“I’ve had two vaccinations. “I’m washing my hands.

“I’m even wearing my mask inside the chamber – but, I’m not going to wear it anywhere else.

“Madame Speaker: come and get me.”

Pelosi’s mask mandate extends even to those who have been vaccinated against COVID, The Blaze reports:

“Members of Congress received a bulletin from Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger, which declared that face masks must be worn “at all times” on the House side of the Capitol complex. The new mask mandate states that everyone must wear face masks starting Thursday, even those who are fully vaccinated. The letter states that Capitol staff and visitors can be arrested for not wearing a mask.”

“Any person who fails to either comply or leave the premises after being asked to do so would be subject to an arrest for Unlawful Entry,” the bulletin warns.
